Cuir est un duo en format court autour des notions de traction et d’attraction. Dans un corps à corps puissant, deux hommes harnachés jouent à manipuler le corps de l’autre. Le plaisir précautionneux qu’ils prennent à se transformer l’un pour l’autre en instrument, en agrès, en terrain de jeu ou en champ de bataille les engage dans une lutte consentie. Entre traction et attraction, ils ne visent pas le pouvoir sur l’autre, mais plutôt le pouvoir avec l’autre.
"Leather"
When two powerful men engage in hand-to-hand combat, we shouldn’t necessarily expect the worst. Confrontation is also a means to understanding. Testing another person’s strength and demonstrating one’s own, opens up communication. "Cuir" is a short two-person performance that explores the concepts of traction and attraction. In robust hand-to-hand combat, two men geared up for battle attempt to manipulate each other’s body. The careful pleasure they take in transforming one another into an instrument, a piece of equipment, a playground or a battlefield draws them into willing combat. Caught up amid traction and attraction, they seek not power over the other, but power with the other.
